Amarachi is also the founder of Melanin Unscripted (MU), a media platform and creative studio aimed at dismantling stereotypes and blurring cultural lines by exposing complex identities and cultures around the world. Through MU’s global creative community, it creates stories, conversations, and experiences centered around underrepresented narratives that are both timely and timeless. This informs Amarachi’s approach as a film director, writer and producer. Under Melanin Unscripted, she has produced and directed films like “Black In Tokyo”, a groundbreaking short documentary that exposes the black experience living in Tokyo, Japan. The documentary has since amassed over 1.5million views on youtube and prompted necessary conversations on the international front regarding diversity and cross-cultural engagement. More recently, Amarachi premiered her debut feature film “The Ones Who Keep Walking”, the first feature documentary film on African creatives in contemporary cinema. Presented by Johnnie Walker, the film tells the story of 20+ creatives across 14 countries in the continent of Africa and its diaspora.

Amarachi is a Forbes Africa 30 under 30 Class of 2021 honoree in the creative visual arts industry. She has been featured on platforms like Vogue Magazine, The Japan Times, Huffington Post, Black Enterprise and The Fader. With a background in International Communications; she has worked in New York, Lagos, Tokyo, and London collaborating with global powerhouses such as Nike, Adidas Tokyo, Sony Music, Apple and shot influential figures like Malala, Naomi Campbell, and Childish Gambino. Amarachi also merges her creativity with her passion for giving. This has seen her curate social impact projects for kids in Nigeria in Makoko slums of Lagos in collaboration with Khan Foundation, in which her platform raised over $11,000 in COVID relief through her short film “Rise in Light”, starring Alton Mason. Her global outlook and impact centered approach sets pace for the creative universe she is building through film, storytelling and media.
